Translation of technical communication and documentation requires considerable expertise in the field, precision in terminology and efficient QA cycles. This is one of our core strengths.

An important item in our portfolio is translation and revision of TecDoc over the entire lifecycle, such as owner manuals, operating manuals and service materials for all kinds of vehicles, machines, tools, software and appliances. In this area, we take care of everything from glossy manuals for the owners of upscale car brands, multi-language leaflets for electronics, documentation of complete assembly lines and materials for tenders.

When it comes to marketing materials like advertisements, leaflets, product information, website texts and customer loyalty activities, special skills are vital. We can assure you that our staff possess these skills.

The creation of effective marketing messages and materials is a specialized task for marketing specialists and texters. They have to carefully consider every single phrase and its impact. Of course it is vital that the message and its quality should not be altered in the target language.

This is a challenge for any translator and not all linguists have the necessary creativity level to handle marketing materials. Slogans and claims often make no sense if they are simply translated literally, word for word.

A skilled linguist will not just translate, but transfer the message into the new environment of the target language. Transcreation is the key word here and this is something all our translators are well trained in.

Adaptation of an entire e-learning course to the needs and expectations of learners in another region and culture goes beyond simply translation. This can be a very complex project - but this does not pose a problem when we have staff who are competent in many fields integrated under one roof and the perfect standard procedures.

eLearning consists of text, graphics, audio and video, reflecting the content of the course. This content has to match the circumstances of the learners in the target region. Of course, all texts have to be translated into the respective target language; but in addition, all units, measures, currencies and gender roles have to fit into the learner's everyday life.

The graphics, audio and video have also to be adapted to the local culture. The images must match the localized course, as must the voices of the speakers and the moving /images. Of course, all this must always be part of the pedagogical approach.

Bilateral and multilateral international projects, involving, for example, governmental development agencies, NGOs and United Nations organizations, all require materials and papers in the languages relevant to their regional activities. Often there is a difficult combination of requirements here, like standardized terminology, large volumes of work and short turn-around-times.

Our flexible translation management and our installed state-of-the-art CAT technology allow us to take on projects for international organizations with stringent deadlines and other requirements. It goes without saying that every translator needs to use dictionaries. But who translates these precious books? For many years eLocalize has been the language specialist for editors of great dictionaries in print, online or as an app.

This includes general dictionaries, technical dictionaries, dictionaries for students and illustrated dictionaries in many different languages.

Since 2015 we have been cooperating with PONS, the leading German brand for dictionaries and language courses. Our linguists have created Arabic, Persian, Kurdish, Tigrinya, Pashto and Urdu versions of PONS’ famous illustrated dictionaries, with each containing 6000 keywords, a list of 2000 verbs, a pronunciation table and a mini phrasebook. Furthermore, we have translated the bestselling German pocket dictionaries into Arabic, Persian and Pashto. Our most recent project is the creation of illustrated technical dictionaries with Arabic and Farsi terminology in four languages: German, English, Arabic and Persian. Two of those dictionaries are already on the market: ‘Metal Technology’ and ‘Piping, Heating, Cooling’. Many others will follow.

Since 2016, we have been working with K Dictionaries on the creation of a large German and Arabic online dictionary with audio pronunciation, sample sentences and interactive elements. The body of this dictionary is now also available as a printed  book, the PONS Standardwörterbuch Plus Arabisch.
